Arrggg! Dinner with Pirates.

Amelia sometimes wakes up early. The only place we can go is, of course, the mall. One of her favorite things in the mall, besides the elevators and escalators, are the cow chairs. She wore her slippers and green owl dress to bed and then to the zoo and dinner cruise.

In the morning before our outing, Amelia loves to hang in the cow chairs.

I already have pictures of the zoo. We really didn't do much today, since we got here a little late and have to leave early to get to the pirate ship.

Look up!

Eric + Amelia on the pirate ship.

It wasn't yet windy, so she was still smiling.

Going under the bridge.

View of Sydney from the ship.

The bridge in the distance.

Just a lovely ride in the harbor.

A beautiful evening.

Watching the waves.

Looking out to sea.

Chalk art festival, AKA another rained out event

This was from quite a while ago. Just trying to catch up on my entries. I can't believe how quickly a month has gone by!

We drove all the way out to Parramatta for this street painting festival, only to get there and it started to rain. Luckily all of the art work is on canvas so they just picked them up and brought them inside.

Before finding the main area, we stopped at a chocolate bar and had churros with melted chocolate. We got Amelia a babychino and Eric got some sort of chocolate shake. It was about $30. Yikes. Everything is so damn pricey!!!

The young girl below did this one.

11 year old with the best painting!

My second favorite piece.

This was my favorite I think.

Of course Amelia liked this one--it was green with a frog.

What are they doing with the baby?

What the hell is this?

Replicas. Very odd yet kind of fun.

Sailors

It would look better if they had an ocean background.

Skipped most of October.

Though I try and take pictures almost every day, I have just been too tired lately to work on the blog. By the time Amelia gets to sleep, I too am asleep or so tired I can't really form two sentences together.

October 3rd-

Morning view near the elevator.

I saw the Gnome Chomsky sculpture here but went back later and it was already gone.

Bondi Beach pool

Too chilly for me.

First she said, "I can't!"

But then kept at it.

And finally figured it out!

Kitty cat suit.

She loves to climb!

A silly game of "golf"

A Manly day + a Mommy night

Singing the rainy day blues.
Not having anything on the agenda, we decided to use the $2.50 all day bus/train/ferry "family fun day" pass and just go somewhere for the heck of it. We decided on Manly. I think mainly because it has the longest ferry ride (at least the longest we've been on thus far). The ride over was magnificent. Because of the high winds, part of the ride was really rocky. Most of us loved being on a boat which tipped this way and that way. It made it much more exciting.

Once we arrived at Manly, we first stopped for lunch at a horribly over-priced pizza place and then moseyed down the road to listen to jazz at the church. It was actually a really nice way to spend the afternoon. There was only one stage left up which was right at the boardwalk, next to the beach, and they had a performance starting when got there. Again, another fun, random and free thing to do in Sydney. I really like this town.

Dino's first ride on the ferry.

Dino loved the ferry.

Contemplating the GIANT waves.

The owner was sweet enough to give Amelia a balloon.

Not letting go.

Jazz in the church.

Taking "football" seriously. It's even on the ferry!

Amelia was "blowing her hair dry" out the window.

It was cold and rainy, but fun to have the window open.
After our Manly day, I had a mommy night out. Oh thank you Eric! It was very much needed! Since I already had my $2.50 all day pass, I told my friend Milly, I would just meet her near her flat in Randwick. She lives 1/2 block from the place we go to for dance class on Wednesday. Anyhow, we went to a nice little Spanish tapas bar and split a bottle of wine. It was lovely to just sit there and chat for a few hours.
